again, issue an RMA number.
3. Is the VGA cable connected correctly?
4. Are the pins in the connector of the VGA cable good?
5. Is/are the Halogen lamp(s) in the compartment good? (For EzPro500/550)
6. Is the input resolution set correctly for the projector?
EzPro 500/550
Problem 1: My projected image is cut off from top/bottom or from left/right.
Or I have a black frame around my image. What is wrong and what should I do?
Explanation: Most notebooks resolution must match the EzPro native resolution to obtain simultaneous viewing or an image that is neither cut off or does not fill the screen. The notebook resolution settings can be configured to match the EzPros native resolution. To set the notebook at the external mode for either SVGA (800 x 600) or VGA (640 x 480) resolution, follow these steps:
Solution: Windows 95, Windows 3.1
1. Connect the EzPro 500/550 projector to your notebook using the appropriate VGA cable. Power on your notebook first and then turn on your EzPro projector.
2. To set the display resolution to SVGA (800 x 600) or VGA (640 x 480).
See Attachment A: Resolution Settings.
3. Set the notebook to the external mode through a combination of function keys (You may also consult your users notebooks user manuals for details). See Attachment B: Monitor Loop-Through
See Attachment C: Monitor Port Activation Chart (Excel
format)
4. Restart Windows to set the external mode to either SVGA or VGA.
Note: The EzPro 500 manufactured before September 1996 can support only VGA (640 x 480) resolution. You can refer to the 5th and 6th digits of the serial number to find the month and year of your projectors manufacturing date. For example, an EzPro 500 with the serial number A80169SXXXXXX indicates that it was manufactured in September 1996: the 6 means year 1996 and the 9 means the month of September.
Problem 2: The 800 x 600 image is rolling vertically. What is wrong?
Solution:
1. Check if the VGA cable is connected correctly.
2. Check if the pin 14 in the connector of the VGA cable is broken or bent.
3. If the items above are good, press 5 or u button to make the image stable.4. If the image is still rolling, the unit needs to be sent back for repaired. Please follow our RMA procedure.

EzPro 550
Problem 1: There is no image at all or just a white blank screen when I powered on the EzPro 550. Ive connected the projector correctly to an IBM compatible computer via a VGA cable and powered on the projector after I turned on the computer, what is wrong?
Explanation: This is a symptom of a batch of EzPro 550 that were manufactured from March June 1997 with the new version OPTOMA VGA cable (part number 42.50204.002). OPTOMA had released a new MAC computer adapter to support 800 x 600 resolution yet there was a conflict due to the new pin assignment of the VGA cable. The symptom then occurs in the sequencing of powering up the projector and the computer.
Solution:
1. Connect the projector to the computer with the VGA cable (pin number 42.50204.002) only after powering on the projector and the computer.
2. Connect the projector to the computer with the old-version OPTOMA VGA cable (pin number 42.50204.001) and power the projector on after the computer. OPTOMA will ship this cable to the customer free of charge via 2nd Day Air services as requested.
Note: The easiest way to determine which VGA cable is the new or old version is to read the pin number label on the cable. If the label on the cable is missing, the key difference between them is that the old version OPTOMA VGA cable (pin number 42.50204.001) does not have a physical pin 9 in the mini D-sub connector, i.e. a 3-row connector.

EzPro 610H/615H
Problem 1: My remote mouse is not working, what should I do?
Solution:
1. Make sure the remote mouse cable is connected to your computer and the EzPro
Projector.
2. Turn all units off.
3. Switch on the units again, starting with the projector, then your computer.
4. Change the batteries in the remote mouse.
5. Change the mouse driver on the laptop to a Logitech mouse driver in the control panel of the computer.
Problem 2: When I use the remote mouse on the PS/2 port and when I am showing a presentation with Microsoft PowerPoint, several slides advance at one click. What should I do?
Explanation: The delay time in the remote-mouse chip is not set properly for PS/2 application.
Solution:
1. Try to connect the remote mouse to the serial port to show your presentation.
2. Return the unit to OPTOMA to update the remote-mouse chip. Please follow our RMA procedure.
Problem 3: I cannot fit both the VGA cable and the remote mouse cable connections into the back of my laptop. How can I connect both?
Solution:
1. Connect the remote mouse cable into the PS/2 mouse port using the PS/2 adapter. This is the round serial port in the back of your laptop.
2. Another option is to purchase an extension adapter from an electronics store to connect the remote mouse cable to the serial port. This is just an extension and will not change the signal of the cable.
Problem 4: How can I get both my laptop mouse and remote mouse to work at the same time?
Solution:
In order to do this, the remote mouse cable must be connected to the serial port of your laptop in order to allow for this function to work. The software on your computer will allow you to use both mouse devices.

EzPro 7xx Series
Problem 1: The lamp light on the projector is on, but there is no projected image. All the cable connections look good, what is wrong?
Explanation: The EzPro 700 cannot automatically detect the input source. Follow these steps to check if you have selected the correct source.
Solution:
1. Press MENU button, select the SOURCE submenu by pressing the SELECT button and then the ENTER button.
2. In the SOURCE submenu, select the source you are using, and then press the
ENTER button to confirm the selection.
Problem 2: I cannot get a good image from the custom memory. What should I do?
Explanation: After a specific timing has been saved in a custom memory, that custom memory should be used only for that specific timing, otherwise you will have a distorted image. For example, if you have the 800 x 600 in memory CUSTOM 1, but you use that memory to display 640 x 480, a distorted image will be projected. This problem can be solved by switching back to memory STANDARD to get a good image.
Solution:
1. Press MENU button, select the SOURCE submenu by pressing the SELECT button, and then press the ENTER button.
2. In the SOURCE submenu, select RGB1 by pressing the SELECT button, press + or - button to change the memory to STANDARD, and then press the ENTER button to confirm your selection.

B: Monitor Loop-Through
Explanation:
The method of viewing the internal screen and the projected

mirroring. Some laptop computer screens may automatically deactivate
when another display device is in use.
Follow the steps below to turn on your laptops monitor
loop-through to obtain simultaneous viewing.
