Brilliant color, advanced compatibility, extended lamp life, and more

The Optoma HD27 is an advanced 3,200 lumen 1080p home theater projector. Its 1.1x zoom, sRGB support and 25,000:1 contrast ratio makes it perfect for watching TV shows, sports, movies and gaming.

Video and photography enthusiasts can use the sRGB color space to produce rich, accurate color based on the primaries of REC.709b HDTV specification when used with any sRGB-compatible device, including both PCs and Macs.

It’s MHL v1.2-compliant, which allows MHL devices such as Optoma’s HDCast Pro, Roku Streaming Stick and Smart Phones to connect directly to the projector without the need for an external power source for music and video playback, view pictures, share web pages and other user-generated digital media content with family and friends.

“a compact, lightweight cutie that weighs just 2.5kg, is small enough to squirrel away beneath the stairs when not in use, yet more than equipped to front a convincing home cinema system. And it sells for about a tenth of the price of a 65in OLED TV.”

“This is a cinematic offering that’s a doddle to set up and does a cracking job with HD content.  And importantly, it’s just as at home with next-gen games as it is with TV and movies.  Just add a media streamer for Netflix, Amazon and YouTube, plus a sound system, and your budget multiplex is up and running.”

“HD27 is replacement of  the HD26 and has better sharpness and a very high uniformity of image. Brightness is also better in comparison to the HD26 which allows you to have larger screen size. The main feature which increases the image quality is a new colour wheel to produce very natural colours in Rec. 709 standard.”

Great experiences at reasonable price

We are impressed with the colours, texture and transitions. The small details of skin tones and the naturalness with which everything is reproduced. When the price is included in the equation, Optoma has committed a little stroke of genius with the HD27, as long as you have a room that you can darken somewhat.

Compared to the more expensive models, we missed “lens shift”, which makes the setup easier. But otherwise there are plenty of nice settings, and the presets for movies, games and other genres work well in practice
