This projector has far exceeded my expectations. Not only does it perform well in typical theater-style lighting (nice deep blacks), I’ve been able to use it without issue in full daylight conditions. The setup was extremely quick and easy.

I purchased this instead of getting a 55″ 4K tv. At 120″ on an eggshell colored wall the image is impressive and as clear as a 40″ at 1080P resolution. The 3-D is like a movie theater minus the crowd noise. I do not have anything negative to say so after a month; it is easier to move than a large tv and has enough lumen to use during the day. You can’t go wrong with this projector!

After 10 years of use and 4 replacement bulbs, it was time to consider the latest technology and replacement of the old unit. After reading countless reviews, I selected the Optoma HD29Darbee projector. It is highly rated by many trade publications. The installation went quite smoothly and setup was straight forward and easy and took less than an hour.
The picture quality blew me away and we look forward to many years of use. Great unit for the price point!

This projector has a great picture and is very bright. The fan is not too loud and it was easy to set up. Darbee does a great job at taking the picture quality to the next level.

Installed this after it came in today, I must say, I’m not disappointed. The blacks are deep, I don’t see any rainbows that you get on some other projectors, and the image quality is great! This is a great value in a world that you might have to spend thousands more to find an “upgrade.”

Projector looks crystal clear but I wish the bulb was brighter. I have a 3000 lumen projector from Epson that seems brighter but this is 100% clearer and crisper picture. Just shows up a little less in our bright room during the day

Received this projector on time and fired it right up. The first thing I noticed was the very quiet fan noise even on bright mode. The colors and detail pop out when Darbee is enabled and the projector is bright enough even for moderate light viewing locations. I tried 3LCD projectors before and could not stand the SDE. I thought I would give DLP a try and I have to say the Texas Instruments chip Optoma put in this projector puts out a great picture. I would recommend this projector to anyone looking for a budget projector that makes it seem like your in a movie theater. I love this projector!

    Pros:
    Long Lamp Life
    Beautiful Picture
    Back-lit Remote
    Darbee Image Enhancement
    Quiet Operation
    Supports MHL

    Cons:
Replacement lamp cost ($179) is expensive compared to other projectors in this price range.
